LUCIAN
If all goes well tonight I shall wear the mantle of Thursday, and take upon myself his duties and obligations. Then all I need do is gather my effects, walk through that door…

He nods to a small door set in the wall in the back of the room.

LUCIAN
…to the steam launch awaiting me, and embark upon murder, extortion, assassination, detonation! Ah, The thrill and joy of being Thursday!

Lucian CLAPS his hands like an excited child.

GABRIEL
Why is it that I think you are a quite decent fellow Gregory, despite all evidence to the contrary? That I positively like you?

Lucian CHUCKLES. Spreads his arms lazily outward.

LUC
The Man Who Was Thursday: 5
Int. Chute

The food floats weirdly above the plates in the antigravity of their fall down this dark tunnel.

Int. Underground Hallway

The table slides into a specially designed niche which slows their fall.
When it comes to the end of it’s brief but mad trip the food is still perfectly on the plates.
Gabriel looks out into a subterranean cavern terminating at a heavy ivory door with a red lanturn hanging above it.
Gabriel takes out his cigar, considers it. Tosses it away absently.
GABRIEL
Where…are…

LUCIAN
Keep quiet and follow me. Do as I do and you will remain undamaged.

The two men make their way to the door.

GABRIEL
I am sorry.

Lucian removes his hat. He peers at Syme, genuinely fascinated by his rival.

LUCIAN
At the possible sacrifice of my life and honor I’m going to prove to you that you were wrong in what you said.

GABRIEL
In what I said?

LUCIAN
You said I was not serious about being an anarchist.

GABRIEL
It is the force of meaning behind the words that…

LUCIAN
Silence! I did not come here to resurrect our debate but to lay it to rest! Listen now. Do you still doubt that I speak truth when I say I am serious?

GABRIEL
I do.

LUCIAN
That in a deeper, deadlier sense I am serious?

GABRIEL
My doubt remains, yes.

LUCIAN
The Man Who Was Thursday: 3
Rosamond runs up to his side. Gabriel is pleasantly surprised that he will be seeing more of her and greets her with an especially courteous bow.

ROSAMOND
Dear sir, Syme was it?

GABRIEL
Your servant, miss.

ROSAMOND
Rosamond, Lucian’s sister. I meant to ask you Mr. Syme. Do people who talk like you and my brother always mean what they say?

GABRIEL
We are called ‘poets’ miss, ‘artists’ if you prefer, sometimes ‘philosophers’. I prefer ‘poet of the law’, but I’m still a man after all that. Not everything I say I mean truly.

ROSAMOND
As with you calling my brother an anarchist?

GABRIEL
The Man Who Was Thursday: 2
Lucian at first looks confused. Then he begins to LAUGH.

CROWD

Gabriel regards the laughing crowd impassively, maybe smiling and nodding to conceal his slight frustration.
He hears a woman LAUGHING halfheartedly, turns and sees ROSAMOND Lucian’s sister. She trying to laugh on her brother’s behalf, but isn’t convinced. She has her brother’s long, crimson tresses and is very lovely.
When she catches sight of Gabriel looking in her direction she stops laughing abruptly.
Lucian is in full pulpit fury now.

LUCIAN
A poet of law! A contradiction in terms I say! It is a wonder the earth does not split asunder at this bla

A fan-made poster for a movie based off the video game Borderlands.

This game from what I've seen has a nice elegant story (a bunch of mercenaries go in search of a mystical vault) a great tongue-in-cheek humor without drifting into full camp, great action, and a really interesting visual aesthetic, not to mention a terrific soundtrack.

Hell, the game looks awesome! There are over 500,000 guns! My friend nearly fainted in joy when he heard this. I think he also got a nosebleed.
