Among the stars dialogue springs to life, the characters wavering like light over water.

Caption: THE FUTURE. The human species seeking new footholds in the universe send a millennial colony ship to a distant planet Undine with only few landmasses, the majority an unbroken alien ocean. Decades after launch the cryogenically suspended crew numbering several hundred assembled their prefabricated settlements, the largest being Landfall on one of the scattered islands, and Atlantis located deep underwater.
But what the humans didn't know was that they were not the first to call this Blue Planet home…

Across the kingdoms of Amsden came a shower of crimson stones from the cold reaches above. In the wake of their fall the brave and foolhardy sought out where those that hadn't burned to ash lay and in some of the remotest parts of the world they were discovered after many years of toil and search.
The Cardinal Stones: great blood-color pillars of crystal that shed their own soft light.
If the very occurrence had riled every court astrologer to distraction, the stones themselves became the most sought after constituent for all mages with enough coin to mount the kind of expedition n

Like a bottomless ocean the void stretches in all directions, lit by the fitful smolder of distant stars. This is the forbidden quadrant: the deepest, farthest reaches of space.
This is where the galaxy sends it's unwanted.
The nexus of the endless night is a large red planet, ringed by decades of ship debris.
A roar of thruster engines and six Arwing fighters pull into view, soaring in formation.

I drew something! XD
Took me awhile. Summer slows me WAY down and I haven't been feeling in a drawing or writing or...really anything mood recently. But I finally finished a little sketch I hope is enjoyable.

Again I guess I'm compelled to portray Sonic as more of a stealthy rebel guy then a cocksure wisecracking mascot. I imagine this is him scaling up or down a building in Robotropolis.
Either that or hanging from a tree practicing his determined scowl
