This has got to be the most unfunny April Fool's joke of all time.

There's now a release date on the trailer too: April 1 2009, so it is a joke.

Yup! IMDB has a Zelda film in the works!
Now what do I think about this?
I think that this indie was shaping up fine by all appearances! I especially loved the line 'don't speak to anyone': they finally got it right after all these years.
I am extremely miffed with IGN going to such lengths to screw with a devoted fanbase though, especially since any Hollywood release will likely be helmed by an Uwe Boll or a (brr) Michael Bay.
The prosthetics and CG needed to make this trailer are awe-inspiring and even though it is a joke it's a very expensive one. I loved the look of all the characters, the acting is actually not that bad, there are a myriad of details and references throughout suggesting that this was a labor of love by a true fan.
But maybe independent films are really the wave of the future, the means for true fans to tell the actual stories of their favorite games and books without any need to appeal to the Hollywood system to give those ideas sell.
Heck, I'd see this one in the theater...if it was real.
This should be a wake up call though. Dreams can live without a stuido backing, if only for the extent of a trailer.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it on IGN, I was so excited. I was so nervous about Uwe Boll. I hate that Link is the silent hero in here to. I dont think this is by Uwe Boll, becuase it lokks like its sticking to the original story. Not like what Boll did to Alone in the Dark and BloodRayne. Hopefully this will be good.

How sure are you that this is fake? Just because it says the release is April first doesn't automatically make it a joke. Did someone say it was a joke somewhere? Because if so, whoever made it should actually make the darn movie.

I think so too! I hope it isn't a fake (I'd love to see this for real) and IGN does have an article on it's cast a crew.
However, other April Fools from other companies make me suspicious. Look at this one. [link]
This is a bit more obviously a joke, but it's disconcerting.
BTW: My dad says he doesn't think the Zelda movie is a fake either

It just seems like a lot (and I mean a LOT) of money went into it. Too much for just a prank.

Right, but I didn't know if you wanted everybody who read our conversations to know that.
The Warcraft thing was an obvious joke, but it calls into question pretty muchly everything released yesterday!
I hope the Zelda thing is real
